It’s no secret by now that I love a good bit of 60’s makeup. There was something about that era that was fun and original, but still managed to stay classy... unlike certain other eras (I’m looking at you 80’s). So I decided it was time to do a throwback and I brought my revoltingly good looking sister along for a second round of Fashion Faces.

GLOWING SKIN FOR OILY GALS
I think it’s fair to say that normal and dry skinned gals have the upper hand in creating beautiful glowing complexions. They can just slap on whatever dewy products they want, wherever they want, and it looks amazing. Meanwhile, us oily skin types have to worry about turning into an oil slick if we go overboard. But a lot of us still want to achieve that healthy, radiant complexion. I reckon it’s doable, it just takes a little bit more strategic planning to pull off. So I’ll walk you through my plan of action.

5 QUICK WAYS TO CLEAN UP YOUR BLOGGER TEMPLATE
Why hello everyone. I’m a bit hesitant in writing this post today. I’m not sure how much interest it will generate, but I thought on the off chance that it would be helpful to anyone (especially for those of you starting out in designing your blog) I'd write it anyway. Building my blog template has been one of the most exciting parts of the whole blogging experience for me so far. I spent a few months putting my template together before I initially launched my blog. Then a few months after launching I began thinking it looked too childish and I did a big redesign. When I first sat down to design my blog I hadn’t a clue how to even begin to customize the code. Fortunately, I have an amazing techie friend who taught me a lot. I’m now at the point where I feel fairly confident in tinkering around. So I thought I’d share a few quick and easy tips that helped to clean up the appearance of my template.

THE SUNDAY NIGHT MASK SESSION
There’s nothing like sitting down to a good movie and slapping on a nice face mask on a Sunday night. While I wouldn’t necessarily consider a face mask an essential part of a skincare routine, they do make you feel pampered and they can be a great booster in helping to combat whatever skincare woe you might be struggling with. I’ve got three options to chat about and I shant dilly dally any longer.

HOW I EDIT MY PHOTOS
I take my photos with a Canon Rebel T3i and the EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens – the blogger special. That combo is a gem. But having a decent camera and lens (and good lighting) is only one of many aspects that make an appealing finished product. I use a variety of photo editing software on both my laptop and my phone to tinker about before I’m ready to put my photos up for your guys’ eyes.

THE I FEEL LIKE SHET MAKEUP
I think everyone has days where they wake up, look in the mirror and just think “Christ.” Sometimes it’s breakouts, sometimes it’s the dreaded puffy face and sometimes it’s just plain old dark under eye circles and lackluster skin. On days like these I’m not someone who wants to cheer myself up with a smoky eye and a red lip. I just want to get myself looking healthy again. I try to focus my attention on bringing light and colour back into the face and I’ve got a few steps that help me to do that.

EYE PRIMERS: SAVE OR SPLURGE
I have really oily eyelids and, like a lot of people I’m sure, I can’t get eyeshadow to last until the end of the day. It always ends up completely bunched into a few measly lines and it’s only gotten worse since we’ve hit the heat of summer. So over the past couple years I’ve tried a few different things to help with the longevity.

JULY FAVOURITES
And yet another month hath rolled around. Is it not the way of life I ask you? Methinks it is. And with this great changing of the times comes yet another presentation of mine favourites of a passed month. In other words, monthly favourites time. Yay! I find it hard to include eye and lip products sometimes because on a day to day basis I don’t usually wear that much of that stuff. I tend to get most use out of base products, and usually the same old boring ones at that. But I do have a few eye and lip options that I’ve used more than once this month, which is saying a lot for me.
