MINI MAC HAUL

Now that I've got a bit of a tan I found myself in need of a new concealer. My usual MAC Studio Finish Concealer has become too light. So what did I do? I went bought another MAC Studio Finish Concealer in a darker shade. Let that be a testament to how much I love that stuff. And of course, along the way I got side tracked by some other goods that I'd been eyeing up for a while.

I've raved about this concealer time and time again. I really like the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, but this old friend of mine holds a special place in my heart. It's gotten me through the worst of times – the times when you've got a zit growing on your zit. It does pinpoint concealing better than any other concealer I've tried. The pigmentation and consistency is just right. The only bummer for me is that when I went to purchase NC25 I discovered that they don't make that shade as a single so I had to go for NC30.

I've also been on the hunt for the near impossible. I wanted a powder bronzer that gave a glow, but didn't contain any clearly visible shimmer. I was tempted by Nars Laguna and the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Bronzer, however the sales assistant at MAC sold me on a deeper shade of the Mineralized Skinfinish. As Essiebutton once said “it's matte, but not flat,” and I think that's the most accurate description of what I was looking for. The colour is a bit warmer than my other bronzers, but I find it actually suits my tanned skin quite well as I have a distinctly yellow undertone.

I've wanted this cream shadow ever since watching Pixiwoo's Olsen Makeup Tutorial. It's gorgeously smokey and matte and it has that beautiful warm undertone that makes your eyes look like they've been dipped in chocolate. It builds up to a heavy pigmentation easily and I'm also pleased to report that, paired with my Nars Primer, it stayed in place all day. No creasing. That's a rarity for me.

One final completely unrelated note, I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service the other night and it was SO GOOD! If you guys haven't seen it yet you should get on it. It was like a mash up between Kick Ass and the original Bond movies. Mmmsexual.
