SOFT AND SULTRY VALENTINE'S DAY MAKEUP

I couldn't help it. Everyone is posting their Valentine's Day looks and I wanted in on the action. That, and I figured I haven't shown my face in a long time and maybe I should do that at some point. Just so you know that it is definitely still me. I am still alive... unless someone is playing a bizarre Weekend At Burnie's gag with you and they're using my body as a puppet. Stop now Holly. In the words of the great Buffy The Vampire Slayer wow if I knew I was going to go on this long I probably would have brought some water.

So what have I got for you today? You likely didn't actually ask. A sultry, but soft winged look with a ton of highlighter and a easy pink lip.

Eyes:
The eyes were actually really easy to do. I used the old scotch tape trick. That's the easiest way to get a soft blurry wing. I lay down a eye shadow primer and a cream coloured shadow all over my lid to work as a base. Then I added the tape and then build up the gradient on the wing with a combination of the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Slate Grey*, as well as Haute Chocolate and Triple Fudge from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. After that I added some soft crease definition with a fluffy brush and a combination of Salted Caramel, Milk Chocolate and my Tarte Amazonion Clay Blush in Fearless (it helps to add that little bit of romantic pink to the mix). Top it off with some highlighter (Champagne Truffle) on the ball of the lid, brow bone and tear duct and that's it for the top half.

Underneath all I did was drag the Haute Chocolate shade close my my lash line and line my waterline with that same Pixi Pencil. Throw on a little Tarte Opening Act Eyelash Primer, paired with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and you're off the the races!

Complexion:
For my base I used a combination of the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. To get that lovely Valentines glow I used all three shades in the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. I can't say enough about how beautiful this stuff makes your skin look. I loaded up on the Tarte Amazonion Clay Blush in Fearless and somehow it still barely shows in photos. To get that intense glow on the cheekbones I used the Colourpop Highlighter in Smoke N Whistles. It has a pink undertone that helps to tie everything together.
Lips:
The lips were as simple as can be. I wanted them to look soft and kissable so I used the Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayon in Cafe (a lovely, warm, nude pink from the holiday set), patted it in with my finger, and added the tiniest bit of gloss in the center of my lips.
