I've mentioned a few times how much I love me some Nars Dragon Girl, but the other day I was watching Tanya Burr's vlog and she was wearing Nars Cruella. Ooooh child. Lets just say I was a moth and her lips were a flame. Only lets say it in a less creepy manor. Well I'd been eyeing up the Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret for months and my new found obsession with Cruella, which is included in the set, was enough to tip the scale. I love the idea of getting to try a load of mini sizes. I figured it was now or never because they're a limited edition Christmas set and they can't last much longer. Yup, I ordered out of fear. I am susceptible to consumer traps.

I haven't given any of them the test of time yet, as they've only just arrived in the mail and I wanted to save their virginities (yes I did Google how to pluralize that word just in case) for some photographs. What I can tell you is that, after having done the swatches, both the matte (Cruella, Iberico) and satin shades (Yu, Descanso, Torres Del Paine) feel like a smooth dream to apply and pack one hell of a pigmented punch. I'm feeling pretty happy that I took the plunge. Every shade is just as beautiful as I'd hoped and I'm particularly looking forward to cracking out Iberico and Yu this summer. There will be more on these beauties soon I'm sure.
What a beautiful, versatile set! It's so nice that contains both finishes from Nars and also the shades are appropriate for all year round! The perfect nudes for a 'bare' look or smokey eyes, vibrant shades for spring/summer and a classic red! You don't need anything else really! :D

When I saw Tanya's vlog I was like "I'm gonna need that lip pencil" but then I realised I probably wouldn't wear it outside the house so didn't end up buying it but it's a GAWJUS shade nonetheless.

It's taken every bit of self-control I have to stay away from this set especially since you can't buy Iberico on its own, but I have Yu and Cruella already so it couldn't really be justified. I'm curious about the nude-y shades though, how are you liking them?

Cruella is such a beautiful shade, it may be one of my all time fave products from NARS! Getting all of these packaged together is a brilliant idea!

ReplyDeleteHaha thank you. I wrote that myself. Yeah I had that struggle for a long time and I lost. Descanso is so beautiful. It's perfection. Torres Del Paine is also beautiful, but a little bit less or a wearable nude and it's quite bright and peachy. But lovely, lovely in general. I can't get over how easily they glide onto the lips.

ReplyDeleteIt's pretty excellent. I already knew that I loved that matte ones so I was happy to see more of those, but I've also been so curious to try the satin ones for so long.
